Meet the Singers
NewVoices is comprised of 80 men and women who simply cannot imagine their lives without the joy vocal music brings. In addition to performing in our concerts, our members are our biggest volunteers donating an average of 700 hours of their time every season. Each member volunteers his time—singers are not financially compensated. In addition to weekly rehearsals and performances, members invest in individual practice and participate in many committees and events.
- All singers are auditioned.
- About half of our members are professional musicians involved in teaching or performing instrumental and vocal music. Many of our members serve as choir directors for their churches or are private vocal instructors.
- Our members volunteer and donate their time to a variety of non-profit organizations.
- Members reside across Northeast Wisconsin and come from as far as Berlin, Manitowoc, Green Bay and Fond du Lac to sing with the ensemble.
The choir council is made up of elected representatives of the ensemble. These singers volunteer their skills to help the organization run more smoothly and to deal with a diverse range of issues including membership, community outreach, fundraising and management of the music library. Many of them volunteer in other areas. We thank these individuals for contributing beyond their talent of singing.
