U. S. Venture to fund choral/orchestral masterworks

The Fox Valley Symphony and newVoices choir announce that the U.S. Venture/Schmidt Family Foundation has granted $40,000 to fund a series of choral/orchestral masterworks. The U.S. Venture Masterwork Series will be a four-year commitment to present a collaboration of major works composed by renowned artists. This award recognizes programs that expand a chorus’ role in its community through mission-based programming, music education, artistic excellence and meaningful collaborations. Phillip was awarded his DMA in Choral Conducting at the University of Miami (Florida) on May 5, 2016. Dr. Swan completed a doctoral essay focused on the choral works of Eric Whitacre, a composer we have featured in many newVoices concerts.
