So what music will you hear at the upcoming Christmas concerts? You’ll get to sing along with choir on familiar carols that you know and love, plus we’ll sing a mix of traditional selections and familiar tunes set to new arrangements. All selections are sacred and celebrate Christ’s birth. Here are some of the pieces we’ll be singing:

Several of our songs are more traditional and based on sacred texts from the Latin mass. One of these is an new setting of “O Magnum Mysterium”

Another selection is “O Beatum et Sacrocanctum Diem”which is a 15th century composition:

Perhaps the most famous choral composers is John Rutter, known for his melodic Christmas songs and carols. We’ll be singing his beautiful “What Sweeter Music.”

The gentle “Sweetest Music Softly Stealing” is a contemporary composition by Elaine Hagenberg and we hope you love this as much as we do:

We will be signing a series of Three Nativity Carols by Stephen Paulus. This festive work sets familiar fifteenth-century English carols with imaginative harmonies and unexpected rhythm changes. The work will be accompanied by harp and flute
