Music samples from our Christmas concerts
So what music will you hear at the upcoming Christmas concerts? You'll get to sing along with choir on familiar carols that you know and love, plus we'll sing a mix of traditional selections and familiar tunes set to new arrangements. All selections are sacred and celebrate Christ's birth. Here are some of the pieces we'll be singing:Several of our songs are more traditional and based on sacred texts from the Latin mass. One of these is an new setting of "O Magnum Mysterium"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9It0XnBMan8&list=PLONoiqHQC3MxLknTeLvinHYyyzLvxMP9p&index=1Another selection is "O Beatum et Sacrocanctum Diem"which is a 15th century composition:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABHG4JnWGIQPerhaps the most famous choral composers is John Rutter, known for his melodic Christmas songs and carols.
