As a community, we have struggled in relative isolation for the past two years. With our return to a full season of in-person concerts, our season opener, ToGather², will focus on the joy we experience from shared, live music in our celebrated community space, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center. This concert will feature premieres of four brand new, commissioned works: Elaine Hagenberg’s, Illuminare, an extended five-movement work with a string chamber ensemble, percussion, and piano, as well as compositions by Blake Henson, Christine Donkin, and Christopher Harris. Elaine describes her work this way, “. . . the piece takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. But as Light gradually returns, hope is restored, illuminating our future and guiding us in peace.” Our High School Master Singers, a select group of singers from 16 area schools, will join us for this performance. Come gather with us and celebrate the joy of music!
